Fulfillment is Not in The Future But Now!

It was 2017 when I first applied for my first job as a teacher.

This is going to be short.

In the interview I was asked many questions which I do not remember. They interviewed me and a friend who also wanted a position in the same school. We were both asked the same questions.

The question was, what do you want to become in future.

If I’m going to be honest with you, I think this is one of the useless questions ever. You might think it’s a great question. Well, from what I’ve realized, we’ve been asked this question many times since our childhood and we’ve not become whatever we wanted to be, because we keep learning and our interests keep changing.

When this question was asked, my friend said, “I live in the moment.” Which I thought was a great answer. It’s like saying, whatever comes my way today is what I’m dealing with.

And this is what most of us should think about. Focusing on a future which you have no control of is not a great idea. What can you do now? Do that and leave the results to whoever is in charge.

It’s not always that it recognized the best work in the room. That’s what life is like in the world. They might never recognize you even though you have great work.

Enjoy what you have today. Be content and push to be better.

Peace.
